Edgar "Chip" Wright III, worked with his father and brother through the 1980's and Chip and Steve became partners when they purchased their father's interest in the business in 1992. Chip died suddenly on July 26, 2003 at the age of 45. His obituary follows:
Edgar E. "Chip" Wright III, 45, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Chip Wright was born on August 30, 1957, in Fargo, ND, to Edgar and Virginia (Gilbery) Wright. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1975. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead and then graduated from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in San Francisco, California. Chip married Janet Scheel on August 2, 1980, in Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. They lived briefly in Fargo before making their home in Moorhead where they have lived since. Chip, along with his father and brother, operated Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead and Vigen-Wright Funeral Homes in Hawley and Lake Park, MN. Chip and his brother had purchased the firm from their father in 1992. He was a member of the Moorhead Rotary Club. Chip loved spending time with his family at home, at the lake, skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, or any other adventures that came their way.
Chip is survived by his wife, Janet, and two children, Emily and Eric, all at home in Moorhead; his parents, Edgar and Virginia Wright, Cormorant, MN; one brother, Steve (Leann) Wright, Moorhead; three sisters, Julie (Jeff) Huot, Jackson, WY, Jenny (Gil) Alberding, Williamsburg, VA, and Sally (Erik) Lindell, Bloomington, MN.
