Grieving the loss of a loved one can be one of the most difficult experiences we face in our life. Though it is an intensely personal experience, mourning is an important process that often includes feelings of shock, disbelief, anger, guilt and depression.
Understanding our grief and the process of mourning can be very helpful in our healing. We can then better define our needs and learn ways to help take care of ourselves and others.
The following are some excellent resources that may be of help:
"Though grief is a natural and necessary process, it's also an extraordinarily difficult one. We're here to help mourners and those who care for them."

Community for Grieving
A meeting for support and encouragement as we deal with the losses of our lives.
This group begins on February 23, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., in Hawley Lutheran Church and will meet twice per month thereafter.
Loss is the part of life that we often do not want to think about, but when we experience the loss of a loved one, our entire world is upended. Several pastors in Hawley are working together to provide a significant ministry to people who are in the midst of grief and their friends. At “Community for Grieving” we will come together to support each other through this difficult transition, we will learn about grief, how it uniquely affects every person and help you make your way through it. Anyone who has lost a loved one is invited to attend and we encourage you to bring a friend along with you.
Contact Pastor Jeff Teeples at (218) 483-3396, Pastor Tom Olson at (218) 483-4706 or Pastor Jim Greene at (218) 937-5499 for more information or to sign up.
“There is sadness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.” Washington Irving
