Nick Tunheim has been a Licensed Funeral Director with Wright Funeral Home since December 2003. He grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, graduating from Thief River Falls High School in 1999. Nick attended the University of North Dakota from 1999 to 2001. In 2002, he graduated with an AA degree from Northland Community and Technical College of Thief River Falls. Nick graduated from the University of Minnesota, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in 2003. Nick was awarded by the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program Student of the Year Award for 2003-2004. Nick was also the recipient of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association Past Presidents Scholarship Award for 2003-2004.
While Nick attended the University of Minnesota, he worked hand-in-hand with the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota. He helped Minnesota residents generously donate their bodies to the University of Minnesota Medical School with assurance that future generations of health care practitioners can obtain a thorough understanding of human anatomy.
Nick plays an active role in Children's Greif Connection of Minnesota, serving on the Board of Directors as well as being a regular camp volunteer. The goal Children's Grief Connection is to bring hope and healing to school-aged children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or significant friend. Nick is a member of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and the Moorhead Rotary Club. Nick, his wife Ann, and their son Kaleb, live in Moorhead. |
