Alida Marie Gulsvig

Alida Marie Gulsvig passed away on May 17, 2017 at Lilac Homes, Moorhead, MN. Alida was born October 1, 1933, in Brooten, MN. She graduated from Elbow Lake High School and went on to graduate from Concordia College with a Home Economics Degree and earned a Master’s Degree at the University of Minnesota. She felt adventuresome and traveled to California to secure a teaching position. Alida spent the next 40 years teaching in Salinas and Soledad, CA. After her retirement, Alida moved to Moorhead, MN to be near her family. She was an active member and volunteer at Trinity Lutheran Church. Alida’s last adventure was a trip to Israel where she followed the steps of Jesus.
Preceding her in death were her parents Edwin and Edna Gulsvig, and brother Sonny Gulsvig.
Survivors are her God-daughter, Maggie Gulsvig, Moorhead; sister-in-law Marcella Gulsvig, Moorhead; nephews Chuck Dar Gulsvig and Kris Patty Gulsvig, Moorhead; nieces Kathy Mel Masseth, Fargo, and Penny Bucky Burgau, Moorhead; along with several other grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
The Memorial Service will be on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 10:30 A.M., in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
Friends may gather at the church from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. on Monday.
Interment will be in the Erdahl Cemetery, Erdahl, MN.
