Amy Haarstad

Amy Haarstad, 96, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in the nursing home.
Amy Irene Estrin was born on December 5, 1917, in Dale, MN, to Arthur and Martha Anderson Estrin. She grew up and attended school there.
Amy married Otto Haarstad on October 24, 1942, in Sisseton, SD. They lived in Moorhead, Hawley and then, in 1948, moved to Dilworth where they made their home. Amy was homemaker, and she did some seasonal work in the potato and onion fields. She loved caring for others; her parents and family were her priority. She was always happy to put the coffee on for visitors.
Amy is survived by her daughter, LaVonne Frank Gross, Dilworth, MN; three grandchildren, Kevin Gross, West Fargo, ND, Julie James Nash, Dilworth, MN, and Jason Angela Gross, Moorhead; four grandchildren, Tyler and Ian Nash, Lydia and Gail Gross; and a sister-in-law Ethlyn Estrin, Montevideo, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Clifford Estrin, sister Beatrice Cummings, and brother-in-law Gordon Cummings.
Funeral: Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation for one hour before the funeral in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Interment: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
