Ardyce Messerschmidt

Ardyce L. Messerschmidt, 72, of Glyndon, MN, died Friday, May 31, 2013, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Ardyce LaVonne Osmundson was born on February 13, 1941 in Moorhead, MN, to Orville and Tooty Hines Osmundson. She grew up in the Glyndon area, where she graduated high school. After graduating, Ardyce attended business school. On June 17, 1960 she married Robert “Bob” Messerschmidt. She worked various bookkeeping jobs, but mostly was a homemaker raising their two children.

Ardyce enjoyed playing the slots at the casino, bowling, golfing and visiting over coffee. More than anything, she enjoyed being with her family. She was always there for everyone for every occasion, including her grandchildren’s sports and activities.

Ardyce is survived by her husband, Bob, Glyndon; daughter, Jodi Lucas, Glyndon; son, Richard Messerschmidt, Glyndon; brother, Gilbert Osmundson, Moorhead; sister, Lorayne Tommerdahl, Rockford, IL; four grandchildren, Mark Messerschmidt, Christine Messerschmidt, Brady Katlin Timme and Matthew Timme; one great-granddaughter, Janessa Messerschmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sherry Messerschmidt and sister, Sandra Borstad.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon, MN.
