Beth Ann Fox

Beth passed on to the spirit world peacefully on June 27, 2013.

Beth Ann Fox was born on September 7, 1955, near the Spirit Lake Nation of which she is an enrolled member. She is the daughter of Maridelia Longie. Her formative years were spent at Fort Totten, North Dakota, where she lived with her mother, sister Mary, grandparents Henry and Agnes Longie, uncles James Littleghost Longie, Eugene Hedine, and other extended family members. She would talk about those times often and considered that her home.

In 1960, she moved with her family to Fargo, North Dakota, where she attended school at St. Mary’s School and later Shanley High School. She and her best friend/sister, Donna Norquay grew up together and she considered her a member of her family of sisters: Mary T. John Nonie, Beatrice Kay Salverson, and brother, Gerald H. Graffis Babe.

She married Ferlon E. Fox, Sr deceased and together they had three sons, Cletis Jodi Rogers, Waylon Linda Bearheart and Junior Brittani Roy. She had four grandsons, Cletis Jr., Waylon Jr., Phoenix, and Ely born June 15th and her only granddaughter, Brandi Ann. Her family also included her two little companions, miniature pinchers Chico and Rosy.

Beth has a warm, compassionate beautiful spirit with a sense of humor and was a mother figure to many. She is much loved and will be missed by her family, friends, and her extended family of Spirit Lake. Her aunt Pauline and cousin Clarice of Spirit Lake offered their support throughout her life as well as the family. She will be greatly missed by many who were a part of her life.

The family wishes to thank all of her medical staff at Sanford Hospital and Kindred Hospital for their care and patience during her illness.

An all night wake will be starting at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2013, in First Congregational United Church of Christ, Moorhead, MN, with Spiritual Leader, JR Fox officiating. The funeral will be on Monday, July 1, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
