Carol Erickson

Carol Marie Erickson passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Montana on Thursday, August 3, after suffering a severe stroke while on vacation with her family in Montana. She was 79.
A resident of Fargo, Carol was born in Moorhead, Minnesota to John and Caroline Holien on April 8, 1938. She was raised and educated in Moorhead. After high school, she received a degree in nursing and began her life long career in health care; first as a nurse and then as a chair side assistant and office manager for dentists Dr. Robert Nelson and Dr. William Kranzler.
Her kindness and compassion extended to all people and wherever she went, she would often be greeted by former patients. Carol also loved the word of God and sharing that passion with others. For many years she taught Sunday school at Hegland Lutheran Church and whatever she did, whether it be nursing, teaching, or caring for family and friends she did it with devotion and love.
A faithful friend, nurse, teacher, daughter, sister, mother, and wife Carol is now with her beloved husband Richard who passed away in November 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Caroline Holien, sisters Shirley, Betty, and Ruth Punky. Carol is survived by her son Craig Natalie of Helena, Montana; daughters Chandra and Cara Jeremy; sisters Margaret and Sandra; brother Kenneth, her special friend Valerie and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21 at 1:00 pm at Hegland Lutheran Church, which is near Hawley, Minnesota. Carol will be laid to rest along with her husband, Richard.
