Carol Vondra Rustad

Carol Vondra Rustad, 87, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, February 15, 2014, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Carol Vondra was born on April 20, 1926, in Mahnomen, MN, to Charles F. and Evelyn M. Johnson Vondra. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from high school in 1944. She attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and then graduated from the University of Minnesota. She began her teaching career in Hawley, MN, and continued her education at Concordia College, where she received her teaching certificate.
Carol married Gordon E. Rustad on June 8, 1951, in Mahnomen, MN. They taught at Felton, MN, for one year and then moved to Moorhead, MN, where they made their home. After raising her family, Carol returned to teaching at Fargo South High School.
Carol was very involved in her church, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed attending bible study.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Rustad, Moorhead; two sons, David G. Patricia Rustad, Edina, MN, and Paul V. Martha Rustad, Wayzata, MN; three grandchildren, Claire and Mark Rustad, and Marit Rustad; one brother, Charles Vondra, Irvine, CA; and one sister, Marilyn Vondra, New York City, New York.
Memorial Gathering: Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
Interment: Prairie Home Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
