Charlotte Krabbenhoft

Charlotte J. Krabbenhoft, 79, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in her home surrounded by family. Charlotte June Rieke was born on June 10, 1932 in Erie, ND to Louis and Era Burgess Rieke. She grew-up and graduated high school in Erie, ND. She then moved to Fargo and graduated from Fargo Business School. Charlotte worked at Manchester's and Sweeny Cleaners as a secretary. On November 18, 1961 she married Erhardt Krabbenhoft Jr. in Horace, ND. Charlotte loved being at home to raise their four children. They made their home in Fargo, ND, Barnesville, MN and most recently on Lake Lizzie, Pelican Rapids, MN.Charlotte enjoyed reading, bowling, crosswords, crocheting and knitting. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW of Barnesville, MN. Charlotte also enjoyed babysitting children in her home for many years. Charlotte will be missed dearly by her family. Things they will miss most are her quick wit, her ability to tell it like it is and her sitting at the head of the table during family card games. Mostly, they take comfort that she is now in Heaven with the Lord watching over them.Charlotte is survived by her husband, Erhardt Jr., Pelican Rapids, MN; three sons, Kevin Tanda Krabbenhoft, Stillwater, MN, Thomas Krabbenhoft, Detroit Lakes, MN and Kenneth Carlene Krabbenhoft, Lake Park, MN; one daughter, Connie Dale Uden, Eielson AFB, AK; three brothers, Warren Margie Rieke, Fargo, ND, Louis Rae Rieke, Erie, ND and Ralph Rieke, Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Jen Bob Schroeder, Arthur, ND; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Dillon, Candice, Garret, Meaghan, Samantha and Courtney; one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
