Clarice Anderson

Clarice was born July 26, 1919, near Baker, Montana, to Emil and Karen Marie Thorsvig Hanson. Shortly thereafter, the family returned to Hagen Township, near Ulen, Minnesota, where she grew up and received her education. On December 1, 1937, Clarice married Elmer Anderson, who also grew up in the Ulen area. In 1943, they moved to Bay City, Michigan, where they were employed in defense related work. In 1945, they returned to Hawley where they continued to raise their family. They were charter members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hawley. She enjoyed involvement in church activities, along with many crafts and handiwork, which she made for her children and grandchildren. Clarice and Elmer moved to Eventide Lutheran Home in 2000. Elmer died October of 2001. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Morris; and one sister, Vera Larson. She is survived by her four children; Arlene Wayne Gustafson, McIntosh, MN, Bob Sandy Anderson, Fargo, ND, Karen Bernie Solum, Moorhead, MN, and Greg Anderson, Moorhead, MN; one brother, Elden Helen Hanson, Hawley, MN; two sisters, Inez Asleson, Ulen, MN, and Lila Roger Hoyme, Comstock, MN; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
