Doris Swenson Ludemann

Doris Swenson Ludemann, 91, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Baker, MN, died peacefully at Eventide Care Center on October 11, 2014.

Doris was born on the family farm outside Baker, MN on June 19, 1923 to James and Martha Manston Vannet. After graduating from Barnesville High School, she worked in the Barnesville doctor’s office for several years. Doris married Eugene Swenson on June 19, 1946 and they moved to Moorhead, MN. Soon after they returned to the farm. Eugene died in 1975. She continued living on the farm. Doris married Walter Ludemann on February 1, 1980. They moved to Moorhead in 2000. Walter died in 2007 and Doris then became a resident of Eventide Care Center. Doris has been a life-long member of Baker Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Barnesville Ladies Auxiliary VFW #4628 since 1970.
Doris is survived by a son, Donald Deb Swenson, daughter, Marlene James McShane, son-in-law, Dave Leach, grandchildren Jennifer Kissell Terry, Scott Kissell Sue, James Leach, Kristin Michael Pennie, great- grandchildren Nathan and Adyson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, daughters Jody and Muriel, and brother Clayton Vannet.

The family wishes to thank all the caregivers that provided loving care to Doris at Eventide.

Visitiation will be Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. The memorial service will be Friday, October 17, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. at the Bottolfson Chapel at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead. Final resting place will be at the Barnesville City Cemetery in Barnesville, MN.
