Elisha Carlson, 37, Moorhead, MN, died unexpectedly on April 8, 2014, in Watford City, ND.
Elisha Nicole Carlson was born on December 8, 1976, in Fargo, ND, to Mark and Lorrie Johnson Carlson. She graduated from Moorhead High School and then attended the Hair Academy in Grand Forks, ND and Rita’s Beauty School in Moorhead. She worked as a nail technician in the Fargo-Moorhead area and later became a dog groomer, working in Grand Forks and Fargo-Moorhead.
Elisha is survived by her parents, Mark and Lorrie Carlson, Moorhead, MN; brother Tyler Brandy Carlson, Moorhead, MN; nephew and niece Gavin and Jasmine Carlson, Moorhead; grandmother Carla Carlson, Moorhead, MN; aunt and Godmother Barbara Bruce Lapka, Brainerd, MN.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marvin Carlson and Eugene and Audrey Johnson; and her aunt Rebecca Johnson.
Elisha was a loving spirit with a caring heart, a bright smile, and sparkling eyes. Her personality was warm, bubbly and fun with a bling attitude. She fought the demons of mental illness for almost 25 years. When the ‘other side’ was present – and the depression overwhelmed her; anxiety and insecurities overcame her; or the personality totally opposite of who she really was came out – it concerned, troubled and perplexed us. We were powerless, but we never lost hope. Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She was a light, a joy and a blessing to all of us who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or a mental health or chemical dependency organization of your choice.
Memorial Gathering: Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Celebration of Life: Monday, April 14, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
