Elizabeth Lorshbough

Elizabeth was born on February 20, 1915 to Mabel and Walter Lorshbough in Boston, MA. She lived there, in New York City and in Annapolis, MD, during the World War I years, while her father was on active duty with the Navy. She and her family moved to Fargo in 1923 to live in the family home which her grandfather, N.K. Hubbard built in 1905. He was one of the first settlers in the Fargo, Dakota Territory, coming in September of 1870. Elizabeth attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High in 1934. She attended Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH, during the World War II years; she worked in the local OPA office, and later the District office. She was an active member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Fargo, and on various committees of the church. Elizabeth was also an active member of various clubs in Fargo: The Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of ND Pioneers, Chapter E of the P.E.O., the Fargo Heritage Society, the Cass & Clay Counties of the Historical Societies, Bonanzaville, the Fargo Music Club, the Fine Arts Club, the Y.W.C.A., and a life member of the American Red Cross since 1917.Elizabeth is survived by nieces and nephews, Zoe Richard Carlson of Sunset, S.C., Kathy Madison Neil Feinberg of Lincoln, MA, Mary Beth Mark Bloomquist of Spicer, MN, Arno Lorshbough of Minneapolis, MN, Mark Sue Madison of Bloomington, MN; and many great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margaret, and brother, Walter, and their spouses; a niece, Linda Gavin; and nephew, Walter Lorshbough.
