Elvira Addy Lavold

Addy was born January 28, 1912 to James and Gertrude Rolsvig McDonald in Caledonia, ND. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from high school in 1930. Addy then finished her schooling at Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. On November 23, 1933 she married John Lavold in Hillsboro, ND. Together they raised their family in Shelly, MN, before moving to Moorhead in 1947. She continued to live in Moorhead until moving to Bethany Nursing Home in Alexandria in 2004. Addy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1947 and active in their circle for many years. She was also active in Campfire Girls and Eastern Star.Addy is survived by her children, Jack Carol of Cottage Grove, MN, Jim Mary of Moorhead, Kay Duane Nelson of Alexandria, MN; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Valrie McDonald of Fargo, ND, and Marion McDonald of El Cajon, CA; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, Duane McDonald, Kent McDonald and Roald "Lindy" McDonald; and sisters, Drucilla Wright, Imogene Sorenson and Marjorie Aarestad.
