Emeline Raethz

Emeline Raethz, 80, Moorhead, MN, went home to her Lord on March 25, 2010.Emeline Anna Lehmann was born on October 14, 1929, near Havana, ND, to Charles and Grace Ellsworth Lehmann. She grew up there, graduated from Havana High School in 1947. She then attended college in Aberdeen, SD, for two years. She taught county school in Kidder, SD, area.Emeline married Willis "Bill" Raethz on April 12, 1952, and they lived in various locales before settling in Moorhead, MN. Emeline worked in retail and spent many years working at Moorhead Technical School, where the students knew her as "Mama Raethz". Emeline was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and was also an active community volunteer.She is survived by her son, Robert Raethz, Halstad, MN; daughters, Beverly Tim Steinberg, Watertown, SD, Deborah Robert Novack, Oak Harbor, WA, and Bonnie Mark Scobey, Glyndon, MN; their father, Bill Raethz, Moorhead, MN; eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley, or Roger Maris Cancer Center.
