Eric Wright

Eric Wright, 26, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at his family home on Middle Cormorant Lake, Lake Park, MN.
Eric was born on February 4, 1991, in Fargo, ND, to Janet Scheel and Chip Wright. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 2009. He had attended MN State Community and Technical College in Moorhead. He was recently employed at Seven Sisters Spirits in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Eric was kind, sensitive and would help anyone with anything. He loved to work with family and friends completing yard work, building a deck or working in the garden. He had achieved a junior black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Following the death of his father when Eric was 12, he struggled with depression and addiction. As he recovered from addiction, depression deepened in spite of his efforts to move forward.
Eric enjoyed spending time at the lake wakeboarding, skiing, golfing and fishing. He loved winter sports like snowboarding and snowmobiling.
Eric is survived by his mother and step-father, Janet Wright-Mortenson and Jeff Mortenson, Lake Park, MN; sister Emily Wright, Moorhead; grandparents Roy and Marie Scheel, Moorhead; Edgar and Virginia Wright, Moorhead; three step-siblings, Courtenay Mike Misheski, West Fargo, ND, Nicole Eric Vasseur, West Fargo, ND, Ben Jessica Mortenson, West Fargo, ND; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his dog Riley.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Chip; and grandmother Ellen Mortenson.
Funeral: Friday, 10:30 A.M., in Cormorant Lutheran Church, Cormorant, MN.
Friends may gather for one hour prior the service.
Interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Moorhead.
