Evelyn Larson

Evelyn M. Larson, 92, of Moorhead, died April 19, 2016 at Eventide Senior Living in Moorhead.

Evelyn M. Larson was born May 20, 1923 to Guttorm Olson Jr. and Olga Berntson Olson, in Erie, MN. After attending country school, she worked at a bakery in Hawley, MN and then during World War II she went to Minneapolis to work in a factory sewing duffel bags for the servicemen. Afterwards, she came back to the Fargo area and worked in a couple of cafes. On November 10, 1945 she was united in marriage to Norman Larson in Callaway, MN. They eventually moved to a farm north of Lake Park, MN where they farmed for the next several years, during which time their daughter, Beverly, was born. While Bev was young they moved throughout the area, including West Fargo, Fargo, Little Cormorant Lake, Hitterdal and Moorhead. Evelyn worked for 11 years for the E.S. Sweeney family as a housekeeper. Norman passed away on December 19, 2001.

Evelyn loved gardening and took great pride in her flower gardens, especially her prized roses. She also especially loved reading and would read anything she could get her hands on.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Bruce Neisius, Hawley; her granddaughter, Anita Neisius, Fargo; her brother, Archie Donna Olson, Blaine, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Alice Iverson, Clara Larson, and Hannah Larson, and brothers Orris Olson, Bennie Olson, Gustav Olson, and Gilman Olson.
