Florence Peterson, 91, Moorhead, MN, died on Sunday, February 12, 2012, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.Florence Kirchmeier was born on May 12, 1920, to George and Anna Pagel Kirchmeier in rural Ada, MN. Growing up on the family farm, she attended a rural school in Green Meadow Township, Norman County, MN. Florence married Glenn Peterson on July 20, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Green Meadow Township near Ada, MN. They lived in Ada, where they started raising their family and moved to Moorhead in 1957.Florence was self-employed, working over thirty years cleaning homes. She became a part of the family of many of her clients. She enjoyed the outdoors and nature. Many summer weekends and vacations were spent camping and fishing with her family. In the winter, she enjoyed ice fishing. She had a love for animals. At her home in the later years, she made sure the birds and squirrels were never hungry. Florence was a long-time volunteer at the Moorhead Thrift Shop. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead.Florence is survived by her son, Ron Susan Peterson, Rochert, MN; daughter, Sharon Alan Christensen, Moorhead, MN; brother, Gerald Julie Kirchmeier, Ada, MN; nine grandchildren, Karla Mehus, Gary Christensen, Cynthia Wellen, Jon Peterson, Steffanie Peterson, Chris Peterson, Sonja Peterson, Justin Peterson, Eli Peterson; six great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Kirchmeier; husband, Glen Peterson; daughter, Glenda Larson; son Robert Peterson; and brothers Alfred and Orville Kirchmeier.
