Francis Deja

Frances Ellen Deja, 87, resident of the Evergreens of Moorhead for the past 7 years, and of River Falls, Wisconsin her first 80 years, died of a recent illness on Friday, March 26, 2004, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.Frances was born to John Henry and Iva Belle Kelly on a farm outside of River Falls, Wisconsin on January 2, 1917. After graduating from high school in 1935, Frances attended River Falls Normal School for a year.She enjoyed a variety of jobs including cooking alongside her aunt for a college boy's club of 35 members, attending a young physically disabled cousin in Chicago, telephone operator, and seamstress before marrying Lawrence Andrew Deja on October 11, 1952. To this union were born two daughters.Frances is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Bob Nelson, Fargo, ND; Patty Ann Paul Anderson, McKinney, TX; her brother Vern Kelly, River Falls, WI; and three grandchildren, Paul Nelson, Fargo, ND, and Joel and Emily Anderson, McKinney, TX.Frances will be remembered for her love of life, her love of gardening and sewing, her hard work and persevering spirit, but most of all her love for her family and friends.Arrangements by Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, and Cashman Mortuary of River Falls, WI.
