Gloria worked at the Pete Dosland Law Office in Moorhead until the family moved to a farm in Fosston, MN where they raised mink, dairy cows, and ran a local restaurant in Gonvick, MN. Later they moved to a farm outside of Georgetown, MN and ran a pig farm and had large vegetable gardens. Gloria taught primary at the LDS church in Fargo and was president of the Georgetown PTA. The family moved to south Moorhead, MN in 1978. Together they had four children, and Gloria worked as a homemaker.

Gloria met Donald Nehk of Fergus Falls in the band, and they began a 10-year friendship that led to their marriage in Fergus Falls, MN on July 23, 1994. Gloria and Donny played in several bands together for 17 years, and traveled all over MN, ND, SD, MT, NE, and NV playing gigs. Gloria was an incredible mother to her children and many grand children and great-grand children.
