Harvey Eckholm

Harvey was born July 20, 1930, at Milaca, MN, to Ernest and Anna Eckholm. He grew up in Foley, MN, and graduated from Foley High School. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1949 until 1953. After his discharge from the Navy, he attended Northwest Technical Institute in Minneapolis for two years. Harvey married Helen Doss on July 27, 1954 in Foley, MN. Together they settled in Moorhead where they raised their family. Harvey worked for Northwestern Bell while in Moorhead and retired after 35 years with the company. After retirement they moved to the lake where he was able to enjoy fishing, woodworking, relaxing and following his favorite sports teams such as the Vikings and Twins, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen; son, Steve Tammy Eckholm of Ulen, MN; daughter, Linda Clark Erickson of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Duane Denby Eckholm of Fargo, ND, Brad Tiffany Eckholm of Harwood, ND, Jeremy Kinnen of Ulen, MN, Brandon Eckholm of Ulen, MN, Tanner and Lauren Erickson of Mesa, AZ; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Marlene Eckholm, Byron Eckholm; and sister Norma Ed Kamar.
