Hazel Regier

May 4, 1916 — July 2, 2011

Hazel was born to Claude and Jesse Sanford on May 4, 1916 and raised near Ulen, Minnesota. She gave her life to the Lord at the early age of four during a children's club. She attended a one room school until eighth grade and went on the Ulen High school from which she graduated in 1933. She spent many years of her life caring for her ailing sister and mother. She worked as a cook on the Meyer farm and then as a salad chef at the Greystone hotel in Detroit Lake. On July 16, 1955 she married John Regier at the Hawley Bible Alliance church and they farmed together near Ulen until 1974. In 1974 they moved to Hawley where she worked part time at the Public Library. Hazel was a long time member of the Hawley Alliance church and helped with various programs there. She passed away on July 2, 2011 under the care of Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN.She is preceded in death by her husband John. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Michael Hope, Sevastopol, Ukraine and her son Harley Shireen Regier, Hawley as well as three grandchildren, Alyssa Hope, Trevor Hope and Isaac Regier. She is also survived by her sister Winifred Bosteter, Eugene, OR, along with several nieces and nephews.
