Howard Olson

Howard L. Olson, 79, Moorhead, MN, and Mesa, AZ, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in his home.
Howard LeRoy Olson was born on October 19, 1934 in Kindred, ND, to Oscar and Alma Dahlstrom Olson. He grew up and attended school at Horace, ND.
Howard married Jane DeLaBarre in 1953 in Fargo and together they had four children, Bob, Bill, Barry and Sherri.
Howard worked at Broadway Pure Oil in Fargo, Firestone Tire, Henry Brothers Excavating, and ran his own service station for several years. He spent the last twenty years of his career working for OK Tire in Fargo, retiring in 1990.
Howard married Mildred Andree Gregor in 1974 and they lived on a farm near Kragnes, MN, as well as West Fargo, ND, and in later years split their time between Lake Ashtabula, ND, and Arizona.
He is survived by three sons, Bob Olson, Bill Jan Schwartz Olson and Barry Olson, all of West Fargo, ND; one daughter, Sherri Gary Smart Denne, West Fargo, ND; two brothers Oscar Marlys Olson, Mapleton, ND, and Lyle LaVerne Olson, Fargo, ND; four sisters Donna Grady Gilchrest, Hilton Head, SC, Darlene Allen Ziegler, Moorhead, MN, Glenda Kenny Nicholson, Dilworth, MN, Olive Lien, Barnesville, MN; four grandchildren, Breanna and Jenna Olson, Ashley Clark, and Sarah Denne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; and siblings Joyce, Raymond, Glen, Gordon, Lester, Morris and Ronald.
Memorial Gathering: Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
Memorial Service: Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
Interment: Oak Mound Cemetery, Kragnes, MN.
