Jay Hass, beloved son, brother and father, 51, passed away peacefully Saturday March 29, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jay was born to William Bill and Marles Hass in Warren, MN on December 14, 1962. He initially grew up in Stephen, MN and then moved to Moorhead, MN in 1967 with his family.

Jay grew up an active child playing many sports, hockey being his favorite. He attended Moorhead High School where he was active in football and hockey, graduating with the class of 1981.
Jay attended college at Northern Arizona University, the University of Minnesota and Moorhead State University, earning a degree in Industrial Technology. He worked in the Twin Cities with various companies related to microcomputer manufacturing and paperboard manufacturing. In 2000, he and his family moved to Moorhead , MN where he worked in medical waste processing, home mortgage, investment and industrial warehousing areas.
Jay is survived by his two children Kristyne attending the University of North Dakota and Jacob Moorhead High School; his mother Marles Hass Moorhead, sister Merilee Brian Reski Woodbury, MN; his uncle Marvin Parker Whitefish, MT, aunt Delores Johnson Motley, MN , uncle and aunt Richard and Pat Hass Detroit Lakes, MN. Jay is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William.
