Jerad Brian Johnson

Jerad Brian Johnson, 49, of Dilworth, MN, passed away peacefully in his home after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Jerad was born April 30, 1968 in Mayville, ND. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Duluth, MN. Jerad graduated from West Fargo High School in 1986. He attended Moorhead Technical College and received an associate degree as a diesel mechanic in 1991. Working as a diesel mechanic led to his career as a line haul driver for 24 years.

Jerad was united in marriage with Melinda Wang Johnson on September 1, 1990 in Hawley, MN. Jerad was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was very active in all aspects of life; including spending time at the lake with family, snowmobiling/ATV riding with friends, and cherished deer hunting in the fall. His time on earth allowed him the ability to provide a good laugh, an honest opinion, being a teacher to others, and always being there for anyone that needed a helping hand.

Jerad’s trust in God provided him strength and acceptance of his diagnosis which allowed his family to love and support him during his journey.

Jerad is survived by his loving wife, Melinda of 27 years; children, Kaitlyn, Ashley, and Christopher Johnson; parents, Bruce and Beverly Johnson Harwood, ND; siblings, Jesse Diana Johnson Watford City, ND, Dawn Tim Scott West Fargo, ND, and Tasha Eric Grindberg Harwood, ND, Misty Matt Kuhl Malta, MT, Sammi Jorgenson Billings, MT, and Laramie AJ Smovir Great Falls, MT; extended family, Red Kathy Jorgenson Great Falls, MT; in-laws, Gary and Marie Wang, Hawley, MN; brothers-in-law, Garret Julie Wang, Moorhead, MN and Greg Wang, Hawley, MN; sister-in-law, Mandy Jason Hamernik, Flom, MN; many nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.

Jerad is preceded in death by his brother, Jay Johnson and Grandparents’.

Visitation: Thursday, October 12, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, at Dilworth Lutheran Church in Dilworth, MN.

Service: Friday, October 13, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Dilworth Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
