Jessica Marie Balster

Jessica Marie Balster was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND on April 10, 1989. She grew up in West Fargo, ND and graduated from high school in 2007. She attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011. After graduation, she moved to Denver, CO and began employment with Green Valley Ranch Modern Smiles and Orthodontics.

Jessica will forever be remembered for her kindness, unique laugh, gentleness, and her love of nature. She enjoyed hiking, four wheeling, riding horses, watching the sun rise and set over the mountains of Colorado, scrapbooking, knitting, attending concerts and plays, playing with her cat, Bella, and spending quiet moments with her fiancé, Matt.

Jessica fought a courageous battle with cancer. She faced each challenge with dignity, grace, and hope. She never allowed cancer to break her spirit and taught all who love her the true meaning of faith.

She is survived by her mother, Carrie Balster; brothers, Aaron Kistin Balster and Kyle Sarah Balster; grandmother, Darlene Balster; fiancé, Matthew Edlund and his parents, Duane and Donna Edlund and sister, Amanda Edlund; stepmother, Candace Balster; stepsister, Megan Skip Morton and stepbrother, Travis Lufkin. She is also survived by her nieces, Paige and Kenedie Balster; nephew, Kelly Clay and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Steven Balster; grandfathers, Franklin “Red” Balster and Arthur Briggs Jr.; grandmother, Barbara Briggs, and stepbrother, Mac Lufkin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in memory of Jessica.

Visitation: Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
