Karen Bueng

Karen Bueng, 62, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Thursday, January 15th at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead after a short battle with brain cancer.
Karen was born to William Bill and Marjorie Baerwaldt Parker in Ortonville, MN on October 7, 1952. Graduating from Ortonville High School in 1971 as co-salutatorian of her class, she went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Elementary Education, at Moorhead State College.
On May 31, 1975 she married Conrad Bueng of Twin Valley, MN and they made their home in Moorhead. After marriage Karen started working at Moorhead Tech now M State Community and Technical College, as a switchboard operator, eventually advancing to the business office where she did the banking for the Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Wadena and Fergus Falls campuses, amongst other duties, before recently retiring.
Karen and Conrad built two houses north of Moorhead and have lived in the second one since 1982. Recently, they have been building a house on Lake Lida where they have spent summer weekends for over 30 years.
Karen loved working in the kitchen making countless meals and treats for friends and family. She also enjoyed fishing with her husband, snowmobiling with friends in lake country, spending time at the lake, Egyptian embroidery and Hardanger, and going to rummage sales at the lake in her spare time. Karen will be missed by all who knew her for her loving and cheerful personality.
Karen is survived by her husband, Conrad, her sister Linda Ron Schmidt, Correll, MN, her mother Marjorie Parker, Milbank, SD, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation: Wednesday, January 21st, from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Funeral Service: Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
