Kathryn Obrien

Kathy A. OBrien, 52, Fargo, ND passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Kathryn Alice Jameson OBrien was born October 5, 1964 at St. Ansgar Hospital, Moorhead, MN to Jim and Barbara VanTassel Jameson. She grew and attended school in Perham, MN, where she graduated in 1983 as Valedictorian of her class.

After high school, she went on to attend Hamline University in St. Paul, MN before transferring to MSUM in Moorhead to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Biology.

Following college, Kathy met Bill OBrien and they were married on May 19, 1990. They lived in Rochester for 9 years before making their way back to Fargo.

Kathy worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses. In her free time, she and Bill enjoyed traveling. She was an avid reader, often reading a few books per day, if it had a good plot and storyline she was happy. Kathy also enjoyed organizing and decorating for holidays and special occasions. Others were more than welcome to help…as long as they did it her way. Above all, family came first to Kathy.

Kathy is survived by her husband; father, Jim; brothers, Dan DeAnn Jameson, Corey Michelle Jameson; sister, Mary Jameson; Amy, Adam, Alex, Shawn Jameson, Jordan Bertsch, Jonathan Westby and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM in Hawley United Methodist Church, Hawley, MN.

Interment will be in McCaulleyville Cemetery, Kent, MN at a later date.
