Lenora Bjornson

Lenora Adell Bjornson was born on March 19, 1932, near Hawley, MN, to Alvin and Selma Alm Bjornson. She attended rural schools and graduated from Hawley High School in 1949, where she took part in many activities. She was a lifelong member of Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN, where she was baptized and confirmed, a Luther League member, and Ruth Circle and WELCA member. She worked in Fargo-Moorhead for a few years then returned home due to illness. Lenora helped on the farm with yard work, garden and flowers. She loved doing embroidery work and she loved to sing, and knew all the verses of the hymns by heart. After the death of her parents she moved with her sister to Hawley in 1977 and remained there for some time before moving to the Moorhead Manor until 2008 when she moved to the nursing home in Barnesville, where she passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
She is survived by her sister Sylvia Bjornson; niece, Lori Irwin; nephew, Gary Forsberg; great-nieces, Gail Matt Grieve, and Lisa Bryce Johnson; three great-great-nieces, Megan and Morgan Grieve, and Myla Johnson; brother-in-law, Edward Forsberg; and many cousins.
She was preceded in deaths by her parents, sister, Corrine Edward Forsberg, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A special thank you to the staff for the care she received at Valley Care and Rehab in Barnesville who did a wonderful job of seeing to all her needs. It was very much appreciated.
Visitation: one hour before the service in the church.
Funeral: Friday, August 18, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN.
Interment: Hegland Lutheran Church Cemetery.
