Leola Jefferson

Leola Jefferson age 86 of Fargo, North Dakota, died peacefully November 24, 2012, at Edgewood Vista with her children by her side. She was born in Fargo and remained a "Fargo Girl" all her life. She married Roy Jefferson in 1947 and they shared 65 years together until Roy's death this past July. Leola was proud of her Swedish heritage and celebrated Swedish holiday traditions. She enjoyed her family and friends, especially the "retiree group" from First National Bank Wells Fargo, where she worked for many years. She loved breakfasts out, shopping for the perfect handbag and of course her precious dog, Cody and cat, Semi. Leola is survived by her daughter, Susan Renaud of Boston, MA and son, Barry Karen of St. Paul, MN; as well as granddaughter Kristin Joe Pontrelli and great-granddaughters Elaina and Lucia all of St. Paul, MN. Her "honorary" daughter, Charlotte Holm of Mesa, AZ has graciously taken Leola's dog and cat into her home; and this kindness provided peace to Leola in her final days. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Edgewood Vista, the Roger Maris Cancer Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their excellent care and comfort to Leola and the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Humane Society, First Presbyterian Church of Moorhead, or donor's choice.
