Leonard M Thompson

Leonard M. Thompson, 88, died on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Leonard was born to Hazel Shepard and Tom Thompson on July 1, 1925 in Tuttle, ND. He attended area schools. Leonard was drafted into the Army in 1945 and discharged in 1947. He returned to the family farm near Tuttle. Leonard worked for the VA hospital for 33 years, retiring in 1984.

Leonard married Barbara A. Hiltwein in 1952. They lived most of their married life in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Leonard volunteered for over 30 years delivering food for the Food Pantry.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Barb, sister Dora Mae Ken Long, Kingman, AZ, sister-in-law Elsie Thompson, McKenzie, ND, brother and sister-in-law Curtis Helen Skredergard , Albuquerque, NM, and several nieces and nephews.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Nettie, and brother-in-law William Michelsen Sr., 2 brothers, Hilmar and Marlin Thompson, 1 brother-in-law, Alfred Skredergard , 2 nephews, Collin Mickelsen and Terry Biech, and 2 nieces, Camille Skredergard and Karen Chase.

Visitation: Monday, December 9, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 9, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
