Leslie Ann Olson

Leslie Ann Olson, 59 , of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Thursday, May 18th in her home at Lake Park. Leslie Ann Elder was born to Forrest and Lois Turner Elder on June 13, 1957 in Tracy, MN, and baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Leslie started school in Wisconsin and went to 2-5th grade at St. Mark’s Catholic School in Shakopee, where she was confirmed.

In 1968, the Elders moved to Lake Park. Leslie was active in sports and cheerleading. She graduated from high school in 1975. She married Danny Olson at Cormorant Lutheran Church in 1976. They settled down on a farm south of Lake Park and had two children, Ryan and Robyn. Leslie worked as an administrative assistant, including 10 years for Judge Jim O’Gorman in Detroit Lakes and the past 13 years for M-State in Moorhead.

Leslie embraced the roles of mother and grandma, being involved in the children’s school and 4-H activities, including coaching for the 4-H softball team. Leslie also treasured extended family and many friends whom she considered family. If you were to look for Leslie on any given Sunday, you’d find her at Turtle Lake.

Leslie is survived by her husband, Danny; children, Ryan Carly Olson, and Robyn Jason Madson; grandchildren, Brady and Casey Mann, Brooklyn and Cody Madson, Gracie and Maks Olson; parents, Forrest and Lois Elder; siblings, Kristin Rich Sellentine, Klark Cristi Elder, and Scott Edna Elder, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceeded in death by her grandparents, Merle and Viola Turner, Louis and Lucille Elder; father-in-law, Ardean Olson; brothers-in-law, Dean Olson and Dennis Olson.

Memorial Gathering: Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 5:00-7:00PM with a prayer service at 7:00PM at Cormorant Lutheran Church, 14314 Co Hwy 4, Lake Park, MN.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, May 24th, 2017, at 11:00AM at Cormorant Lutheran Church.

Burial: Wednesday, May 24th, 2017, at Cormorant Lutheran Church Cemetery immediately following services.
