Lorraine Fuglie

Lorraine Jeanette Swenson was born on October 30, 1927, to Clarence and Mabel Larson Swenson in Lake Park, MN. Lorraine attended school in Becker County District #2. She continued her education at Lake Park High School, graduating at the age of 16 in 1944. After graduation she attended Detroit Lakes Business School. She then worked at the Internal Revenue Service in Fargo, ND.
Lorraine was united in marriage to Harry Fuglie on April 12, 1947 at Cormorant Lutheran Church.
Lorraine and Harry raised their children in Lake Park, MN. She was an active member of Lake Park Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School, participating in church circle, and volunteering at the church library.
She enjoyed traveling the world, gardening, reading, and her summers at the lake, hosting countless guests throughout the years. Lorraine was dedicated to her family and friends, welcoming all into her home and dinner table. She loved supporting her children, watching her grandchildren’s activities and being surrounded by great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Lorraine died at the age of 89 on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Harry Fuglie; one son, Ronald Deborah Fuglie; 3 daughters, LeAnn Jeffrey Grabow, Lynn Richard Schram, and Lori Thomas Mayfield; brother, Douglas Norma Swenson; sister, Dolores Nelson; grandchildren, Andrea Michael Glass, Matthew Michelle Grabow, Aaron Holly Schram, Jason Paige Schram, Nathan Katrina Schram, Ryan Schram, Katie Joseph Weidner, and Tanner Wichmann; great-grandchildren, Anna Glass, Elizabeth Glass, Preston Jelen, Parker Jelen, Lilia Grabow, Lukas Grabow, Sadie Schram, Laney Schram, Owen Schram, Josie Curry, Sofia Morales, Landon Morales, Adeline Weidner, Lucas Weidner and Blake Weidner.

Visitation will be Monday, February 6, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Interment at Strandvik Lutheran Cemetery.
