Lowell Lere

Lowell M. Lere, 70, of Moorhead, MN died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, in Rochester, MN under the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice. Lowell Marvin Lere was born on July 17, 1942 in Marion, ND to Louis and Marie Sandness Lere. He grew up in Marion, where he attended school. Lowell attended college in Bismarck, ND. On April 19, 1972 he married Gloria Otteson in Aberdeen, SD. They eventually made their home in Moorhead, MN where they raised their six children. Lowell worked for North Dakota Truck Regulatory Department and Nash-Finch Company. In 1988 he became the owner of Pizza Patrol in Fargo and Moorhead, which they still operate today. Lowell enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing cards and Backup 8 with friends. He also loved to spend his winters in Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria, Moorhead, MN; three sons, Jay Amy Lere, Moorhead, MN, Jeff Lea Lere, Moorhead, MN and John Tonya Lere, New Waverly, TX; three daughters, Leslie Chad Scott, Gilbert, AZ, Lynette Jason Mark, Moorhead, MN and Dawn Smith, Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Leonard Doris Lere, Crystal, MN and Roland Lere, Marion, ND; three sisters, Alice Page Shaw, Bangor, ME, Florence Lere, Marion, ND and Muriel Lere, Marion, ND; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandson and one more on the way; his beloved dog, Rambo, several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glenn and Orville Lere and two sisters, Mildred Houge and Katherine Norberg.
