Magdalene Keller

Magdalene “Maggie” C. Keller, 90, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, February 22, 2016, in Palliative Care at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Magdalene “Maggie” Christine Hager was born on February 25, 1925, in Harvey, ND, to August and Veronica Braunagle Hager. She grew up in Harvey, ND, where she attended country school. On June 24, 1946, Maggie married Casper Keller. They farmed for 27 years near Harvey, ND, where Maggie stayed home with their four children and worked hard helping farm. In 1973 they moved to Ada, MN, and eventually moving to Moorhead, MN, in 1978 where they have since resided.

Maggie had a big heart and always took care of others before herself. She was faithful in her religion and was very active at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she was a member for many years. Maggie enjoyed spending time at the lake fishing and being with family. Family was most important to her and she loved her time being with her family and grandchildren.

Maggie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Casper; two sons, August Mary Keller, Elk River, MN, and Ron Judy Keller, Brookings, SD; two daughters, Eileen Randy Martin, Fargo, ND, and Madonna John Mayer, Moorhead, MN; brother, Daniel Hager, Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law, Sister Hildegard, Hankinson, ND, and Johanna Hoveland, WA; five grandchildren, Blaine Becky and Jason Nichole Keller, Casey and Tonya Martin, and Cole Mayer; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Nick Hager, and sister Christine Keller.

Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
