Marcella Shorey

Marcella Shorey, 66, of Dilworth, MN, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 in her home in Dilworth, MN.

Marcella Hall Shorey was born on February 17, 1949 in Devils Lake, ND to Lena and Hildreth Hall. Marcella grew up in Devils Lake, ND and Fargo, ND and graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo. Marcella later attended North Dakota State University and graduated with an Associate Degree in Childhood Development and Family Relations.

Marcella worked as a Nursing Assistant for St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, ND, Harvey Hospital, Harvey, ND, Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit lakes, MN, and Moorhead Health Care in Moorhead, MN. Marcella received the Nurse’s Aide of the Month award while at St. Luke’s. Marcella loved children and worked as a Teacher’s Aide at NDSU Day Care Center, Teacher at Nokomis Day Care Center, Teacher’s Aide at the Dilworth Elementary School, for Dilworth Community Services, Children’s Garden Daycare in Moorhead, Fargo Youth Commission, and as Noontime Supervisor at Robert ASP School.

Marcella and James “Jim” Shorey were married in Devils Lake, ND on August 6, 1976. Marcella and Jim had three children and settled in Dilworth, MN in 1990 and have lived there ever since. Marcella loved spending time with her three children and grandchildren.

Marcella is survived by her son John Chantel Shorey of Fargo, ND, son Joe Shorey Sammie Fromm of Lignite, ND, daughter Kim Chris Kotzer of Fargo, ND, brother Robert Hall, Fargo, ND, sister Mary Jane Dennis Hanson, Horace, ND, brother Donald Kathleen Hall, Bismarck, ND and grandchildren Danica, Jack, Jase and one on the way. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, sister, mother, father and a number of other relates.

Memorial Gathering: Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
