Marion Cresap

February 25, 1921 — March 25, 2015

Marion E. Cresap, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Hawley, MN, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Eventide in Moorhead, MN.
Marion was born February 25, 1921, in Wimbledon, ND, to Edward and Elisa Westerkamp Hoefel. She grew up, attended, and graduated from Wimbledon High School.
Marion married Wesley Cresap January 29, 1943. They moved to Hawley, MN in 1953, where they raised their family of six children. Marion and Wes moved to the Fairmont in January of 2010. Wes passed away September 8, 2011. Marion continued living at the Fairmont until February 6, 2015, when she moved to Eventide in Moorhead. Marion was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hawley until its closure.
Family was the core of Marion’s being. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The kitchen was Marion’s favorite place. Marion loved to plan, decorate and cook for special events and holidays. If Marion wasn’t in her kitchen, her favorite pastime would be crocheting or embroidering beautiful doilies and dish towels.
Marion was especially proud of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren. She even did a little bragging once in a while. She especially enjoyed cheering for the Hawley Nuggets and the Perham Yellow Jackets I wonder why. Marion and Wes received the “Fan of the Year” award.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Wes, son, Jim Cresap, son-in-law, Roger Kragerud, and sister, Beata Cross.
She is survived by one son, David Teri Cresap of Perham, MN; four daughters, Diana Kragerud of Hawley, MN, Shelda Steve Heidecker of Burnsville, MN, Verlyn Mike Aakre of Dilworth, MN, and Paula Rod Tweten of Edmond, OK; daughter-in-law, Julie Cresap of Hawley, MN; two sisters, Verla Newton of Fargo, ND, and Zella Zahn of Bismarck, ND; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren to be born.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Fairmont Assisted Living and Eventide for their love, support and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Eventide.
