Marion Elaine Olson

Marion E. Olson, 83, of Lake Park passed away on September 29, 2016 in Perham, MN.
Born April 5th, 1933 to Obert and Evelyn Berg Knutson in Hawley, MN. She lived in Hawley for several years until she moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she lived for 2 years before moving back to Minnesota and settling in Lake Park. She attended high school in Lake Park and married Lloyd Olson on November 30th 1951. She was a full time housemother who worked hard, feeding her 5 children and the farm help which was a full time job. She was a member of the Eastern Star, a Den Mother, a consultant for Avon and taught Sunday school for several years in Lake Park. Marion enjoyed music and needle point cross stitching and was an excellent cook and baker. She also loved to travel to Arizona in the winter to visit family.
Survivors include her husband Lloyd; Sons, Larry Olson and Richard Andrea Olson; Daughters, Diane Freeman, LuAnn Tim Reitan Wiedeman, and Sharon Parry Jacobson Kohler; Grandchildren, Joni Burg, Jennifer Winkles, Kjerstin Olson, Kaitlyn Olson, Brandon Olson, Kent Michelle Freeman, Ryan Alexis Freeman, Sara Freeman, Jeff Tiffaney Wiedeman, Terri Wiedeman, Brittany Wiedeman, Jamie Braseth, and Kody Rachel Kohler; 13 great-grandchildren; Brother, Obert “Chubby” Kitty Knutson Jr.; Nieces, Debbie Joe Stewart, Connie Mike Cummings, Sandy Joe Noonan, and Kathy Dave Checchin; Nephew, Kurt Sue Knutson, and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceeded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Johnson; brother-in-law, Carl Johnson.
Services will take place on Tuesday, October 4th, at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park, MN at 11:00 A.M. with a burial immediately following services at the Eksjo Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3rd at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN from 5-8 P.M. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 P.M.
