Marion Skauge

Marion Skauge, 95, of Moorhead, MN, died on March 27, 2010 at Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND, surrounded by family.Marion Cecilia Gerlach was born August 16, 1914, at 819 2nd Street North in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Albert and Olga Lundgren-Flore Gerlach. She was raised in Fargo and attended St. Mary's Grade School and Sacred Heart Academy. After graduation she attended St. Benedict College, Collegeville, MN, and later worked in the financial office of NDSU. Marion married U.T. Ted Skauge on July 3, 1940, and they made their home in south Moorhead.Marion is survived by her children: Dick Candy Lake Park, MN, James Marcia, Moorhead, MN, John Dianne, Beltrami, MN, Joan James Frankson, Fargo, ND, and daughter-in-law, Shirley Skauge, Apple Valley, MN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Gail Gerlach, Indianapolis, IN.She was preceded in death by her husband, U.T. Ted Skauge, her son Robert Skauge, two infant daughters and six siblings.Marion's life centered on her family, her children, grandchildren Lynn, Mark, Marie, Beth, Kathryn, Patrick, Molly, Megan, Sarah and Anna, great-grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Allie, Brandon, Ben, Sam, Meadow, Ben, and Mitchell, nieces and nephews and siblings. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead for 70 years. Marion loved sports and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. She attended a 1997 Twins World Series game. She loved to play Bridge, Scrabble, and Solitaire and do crosswords. Marion enjoyed traveling to Europe, Puerto Rico and throughout the United States to visit her family. She was able to live in her Moorhead home until she moved to Elim Care Center in 2009.
