Marjolane “Marge” Sahr Storbakken

Marjolane “Marge” Sahr Storbakken, 69, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Friday, December 12th, 2014 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Marge was born on September 11, 1945, to Art and Rose Bitterman. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown. She married Ervin P. Sahr in April of 1961, making their home in Lisbon, ND, with their three children. They owned and operated Four Way Honda. She worked at a veterinary clinic, fabric store and floral shop. They moved to Jamestown, ND in 1980. Marge managed Lee’s Jewelry, worked at Cenex, and was Director of the Jamestown Mall.

On March 22nd, 2005 she married Dave Storbakken, making their home in Fargo, ND. She was fortunate to become a stepmother to Dave’s three children. They owned and operated M & S Communications. She worked as an interior decorator. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 2007 where she retired and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Marge loved shopping, music, dancing, painting, bridge, cooking, baking, sewing and golfing. She was a member of the Jaycees and Skippers a snowmobile club, taught bible school, brownies, girl and boy scouts. She played the piano and enjoyed singing and playing the accordion with her father and sister. Marge was diagnosed with Stomatitis Bichetes in the mid 70’s and ran a support group for those diagnosed with terminal illnesses. She had strong faith and outlived doctor’s expectations. Marge was an extraordinary friend maintaining strong friendships throughout her years.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Betty and John Smith; and brother-in-law, Darrell Baker.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; three children, Craig Sang Mi Sahr of Colorado Springs, CO, David Jess Marsalek of Fargo, ND, Cindy Soulis of Fargo, ND; three stepchildren, Ashley Storbakken Adam Fleming of Fargo, ND, Amy Storbakken Kurt Vereecke of Bismarck, ND, Adam Storbakken Kacey Herder of New Hope, MN; her sister, Jean Baker of Jamestown, ND, along with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday, December 15, from 5 – 7 p.m., with prayer service at 7 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Tuesday, December 16, at 1:30 p.m., in Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus, Fargo, ND.
