Mary Mcdaniel

September 8, 1926 — February 20, 2015

Mary McDaniel, 88, died of natural causes on February 18, 2015, at her home in Lake Park, MN.

She was born in 1926, in Rawlins, WY, to Boyd an Irish immigrant and Ana Hayes. As a young child, her family relocated to a farm north of Lake Park. She attended and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1944.

After living briefly in both Duluth, MN and Montana, she moved to St. Louis, MO where she met and married Calvin McDaniel. In 1971, they moved to Lake Park as she wanted to raise her two children in her home town.

Mary was an active member of the Eksjo Lutheran Church, while also belonging to various clubs. She enjoyed spending her free time gardening and had an immense fondness for animals.

Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her two children, Laurie Eric Bondy and Stephen McDaniel; and her two beloved grandchildren, Cole and Taylor Bondy; as well as her three step-children, Darrel, Joseph and Vivian.

Mary was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandparent. While she was an only child, she was richly blessed by living in a community with so many kind friends, whom she considered family.
Because of her love of animals, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be may made to the Homeward Animal Shelter, in Fargo, ND http://www.homewardonline.org
