Nora Burton

Nora Burton, 96, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, April 27, 2013, in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Nora Johnson was born on March 1, 1917, at Benwood, MN, to Albert and Mable Lang Johnson. She grew up and attended school at Badger, MN, graduating from Badger High School. She achieved her R.N. at Grand Forks Deaconess Hospital, in Grand Forks, ND and worked as an R.N. in Grand Forks and Mayville, ND.
Nora married Mervin Burton on June 10, 1941, in Crookston, MN. They lived in Nevada and California while he prepared for deployment and then she returned to Fargo-Moorhead while he served in WWII. Nora worked at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Moorhead for many years, retiring in 1977. Mervin died on January 6, 1968.
Nora was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a caring nurse.
Nora was blessed with an unshakeable faith and had been a long time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead. She enjoyed reading, music, raising flowers and being outside.
Nora is survived by her daughters, Doris Burton and Shirley Burton, Moorhead. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Evelyn Olson and two brothers Cordie and Alden Johnson.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
