Paul Gunnar Anderson

December 28, 1937 — October 26, 2016

Paul Gunnar Anderson, 78, of Moorhead, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Manor Care in Fargo, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, and due to complications from COPD and Alzheimer’s.

The memorial service will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 610 13th St. N, Moorhead. Friends and family may gather for one hour before the service at the church.

Paul was born December 28, 1937, in Washington D.C., the son of Gunnar Ivan and Ruth Elizabeth Anderson Anderson. When he was young, the family moved to Florida, where Paul graduated from Pierson High School in 1956. After graduating, he attended classes at Texas Lutheran College in Sequin, TX and he graduated from MSUM in 1971.

Paul was united in marriage to Clara “Jean” Lovaasen on July 7, 1963, in Park River, ND. For 24 years he was employed as a storekeeper in the warehouse at American Crystal Sugar, retiring in 1997. Paul was a very active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean. He was preceded in death by their daughter, Gretchen Ruth Anderson, his parents, and his sisters, Mary Jane Stiver, Ruth Iva Hansen, and Grace Schlenk.
