Peter “Pete” Lazorenko

Peter "Pete" Lazorenko, 81, West Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Sheyenne Crossings Care Center, West Fargo, ND.Peter was born on February 24, 1929, in Grassy Butte, ND, to John and Lena Terreschenko Lazorenko. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Killdeer High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952 until 1955. Following his service he attended and graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Peter married Joan Pierce on June 6, 1959, in the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Waterloo, Iowa, where he worked for John Deere at the research center in Cedar Falls. He returned to the area to work for Pierce Incorporated and they lived in Moorhead, MN, and then Grand Forks, ND, for 20 years. They moved back to Moorhead in 1990 and then to West Fargo, ND, in 1996. In later years he managed properties for Loren Pierce. Pete had been an active member of the Lions Clubs in Grand Forks and West Fargo, holding various offices and also serving as District Governor.He is survived by his wife, Joan Lazorenko, West Fargo, ND; son Don Lazorenko, West Fargo, ND; daughter Karen Noll, West Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Paige Lazorenko, Tylor Noll and Brannon Noll; two sisters, Lillian and Beverly.
