Rolland Olson

Rolland “Bootsy” Olson, 83, passed away September 18, 2016, at his home in Lake Park, MN, surrounded by his family and under the care of his loving wife, Donna, and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Rolland Eugene Olson was born September 27, 2016 in Lake Park to Olia and Ethel Sletten Olson. He graduated from Lake Park High School in 1949 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. For over 20 years he proudly served his country in the Army and Air Force, serving in both the Korean War and Vietnam War. He retired from his military career in 1973.
In 1987 Rolland was married to Donna Covey in Lake Andes, SD and they made their home in Lake Park where they raised their 5 sons. He touched the lives of many people, as a Scout troop leader and baseball coach. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors, including camping, canoeing, riding bike, and cross-country skiing.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, and his sons, Kevin Eugene Lisa Olson, Michigan, Rolland Keith Olson, John T. Covey, Jesse Nancy Covey and James Covey, all of Lake Park; sister, Carol Joe Drazonvich, Hibbing, MN, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
