Ronald “Ronnie” Boutain

Ronald “Ronnie” D. Boutain, 68, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Ronnie was born on May 29, 1945 in Crookston, MN to Alexander and Sadie Wilson Boutain. He grew up in Crookston, MN where he attended school. On June 8, 1976, Ronnie married Nancy Lamb in Sisseton, SD. Throughout the years Ronnie worked in farming, trucking and construction. He managed a dairy farm in Barnesville and Glyndon, where they did custom milking. He also owned a cleaning business in the Moorhead area. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking crafts.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, Moorhead, MN; children, Daniel Marlene Boutain, Lubbock, TX, Carol Torkelson-Resendez, Longmont, CO and Rebecca Jerry Bissett, Wheatland, ND; grandchildren, Angela Gehrig, Nichole Seth Gehrig-Stone, Steven, Amanda and Nicholas Boutain, Brandon Michayla Hasby, Logan Bissett, Tanesha Torkelson, and Demitrise Torkelson; great-grandchildren, Braydon Hasby, Jackson and Grayson; siblings, Raymond Janet Boutain, Hankinson, ND, Wilford Pat Boutain, Princeton, MN, Alex “Poncho” Jr. Donna Boutain, Duluth, MN, Clarence Varuna Boutain, Breezy Point, MN, Lawrence Evie Boutain, Goodridge, MN, James Kay Boutain, Red Lake Falls, MN, Sharon Grindeland, Goodridge, MN, Margaret Forrest Hamms, Thief River Falls, MN, MaryAnn David Sweno, Oakley, MN, Virgil Jennifer Boutain, Plumber, MN and Linda Hamlin, Thief River Falls, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexandar and Sadie Boutain, children, Rhonda and Steven Boutain, sister, Darlene Boutain, brother-in-law, Jack Grindeland, nephews, David Boutain and Randy Currie, nieces Darla Hamlin and ChristyAnn, and great-niece, Amy Boutain-Rux.

Visitation: Friday, November 8, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, Moorhead, MN.
