Rose Schanz

Rose Ann Schanz, 57, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Rose Ann was born on July 3, 1957, to Arlie and Pauline Clinton Schwede in Centralia, WA. She grew up in Centralia, where she graduated from high school. Rose then attended Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND, where she met Larry Schanz. Rose married Larry on June 11, 1976 in Ellendale, ND. Upon graduation, they ministered in various churches in the Dakotas and Montana, including Native American mission work. Rose had an anointed singing voice that she used in their ministry. She also worked as a certified nurse aide in various nursing homes and home health in the Bismarck, ND area. They eventually made their home in Moorhead, MN.

Rose enjoyed doing beadwork, vegetable gardening and canning. She was a master in making soup from scratch. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was survived by her husband, Larry Schanz; sister, Marvel David Kallappa; brother, Mark Pam Schwede; mother-in-law, Marian Schanz; sisters-in-law, LaVonne Matson, LaVynia Robert Stern and LaRayne Schanz; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Pauline Schwede; brother, Arlie Jr. Schwede; two nieces, Krista Wilson and Zoe Schwede; father-in-law, Gerald Schanz; and brother-in-law, Leon Schanz.

Visitation: Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
