Sally Ann Olson

Sally A. Olson, 76, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in her home.

Sally Ann Olson was born January 7, 1940, in Devils Lake, ND, to Chester and Ann Meier Olson. She grew up in Fargo, ND graduating from Shanley High School and Moorhead State Teacher’s College. She taught elementary school in Felton and Glyndon for 30 years.

Sally, known by many as the “candy lady”, was an avid horse enthusiast. She competed in Arab Costume events and belonged to the Possietes as a young woman. She was also involved in the FM Kennel Club raising and showing Shelties for many years. An accomplished artist she painted and competed in an annual Christmas contest which she won many times with nativity scenes painted on her parent’s picture window.

She is survived by her husband; Robert Olson, rural Moorhead, MN, daughters; Tammy Tom Stoffel, Moorhead, MN, Sandi Olson, Moorhead, MN, Tracy Olson, Halstad, MN, and Melanie Olson, Perley, MN, brother; Jim Jean Olson, Fargo, ND, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Steven Olson.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 at 1:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
