Thomas S Spieker

Thomas S. Spieker, 56, of Glyndon, MN passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home.
Born to Dennis and Evelyn Schmidt Spieker on November 2nd, 1959. Thomas graduated from Hawley High School in 1978 where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. He married Dianne Larson on August 11th, 1978 and had three children; Melissa, Jessica, and Adam. He later married Chrissy Bates on August 25th, 1995.
Thomas worked with his father at the Buffalo River Speedway doing various jobs including racing stock cars and flagging races. He worked for American Crystal Sugar Company for 33 years ultimately becoming an electrician. As a major supporter for unions, he became a union representative and was a proud member of the BCTGM Local 167G Union.
Thomas loved dogs, hunting, and fishing. He looked forward to the Live Bait Feed every year which he attended for 36 years with all of his best friends. He loved to garden like his Old Man Spieker and took pride in his canning, particularly of his brand of hot salsa. He also enjoyed playing softball with the Jammers for many years.
Thomas had a heart of gold, was a major advocate for peace and never passed judgment on anybody. He was proud most of all of his children and grandchildren and loved them unconditionally.
Survivors include his son, Adam Danielle Spieker; Daughters, Melissa Bruce Boedigheimer, and Jessica Kris Spieker Ferden; Grandchildren, Ryan, Mason, Reece, Easton, Annikah, Liam, Arabella, Aurora, and Verelyn; Parents; Brother, Bob Chris Spieker; Sisters, Judy Steve Germaine, Kim Steve Elrod, Donna McManan, Brenda Steve Bitker, and Paula Al Greggersen; and many other loving relatives and friends. Thomas is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Esther Spieker and John and Bertha Schmidt; Nephew Zach Spieker.
Memorial Service will take place on Monday, October 3rd at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Hawley, MN. Memorial visitation will be on Sunday, October 2nd from 5-8 P.M. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN.
